Philip Heady

Philip E. Heady, 92, died Aug. 30, 2012, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute, Fort Pierce. He was born in Oregon Corners, N.Y., and lived in Port St. Lucie for 30 years, coming from Putnam Valley, N.Y. During World War II, he served in the Army. Prior to retirement, he was a procedures analyst for IBM in Armonk, N.Y. for 25 years. He taught lapidary studies at Indian River State College. He was of the Lutheran faith. Survivors include a son, Matthew Heady of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary Heady, earlier this year.
