Richard Francesco Obituary

Richard Joseph Francesco, 77, died Aug. 13, 2012, at VNA/Hospice House in Vero Beach. He was born in Beverly, Mass., and lived in Vero Beach for 22 years, coming from Fort Washington, Md. He was an Air Force veteran. He graduated from Boston University, receiving a bachelor of science degree. He worked for the U.S. Department of Defense as an internal auditor for 33 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach. He was a member of the American Contract Bridge League. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Rita Francesco of Vero Beach; sons, Mark Francesco of Frederick, Md., and Michael Francesco of Denver, N.C.; daughter, Jeanine Albiston of Cary, N.C.; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Francesco; and sister, Mary Ann Matheson. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Aug. 20 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Interment will be in South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth with military honors conducted by the Air Force Honor Guard Aug. 21. Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
