Robert Hutcheson Obituary

ROBERT R. HUTCHESO N Robert R. Hutcheson, 89, died on August 24 at his residence in Stuart, Florida. He was born in Middlesex, New Jersey on October 31, 1916 and was a longtime resident and banker in Bound Brook, New Jersey until moving to Florida in 1981 upon retirement. Robert Hutcheson was a graduate of Pace College and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University. He was a World War II Army Air Corp pilot, learning to fly in "open cockpit" PT- 19's and graduating to twin engine bombers, which he flew with the 13th Air Force. Discharged as a Captain, Bob followed his grandfather's footsteps with a career in banking that began as a page at New York Banker's Trust and culminated in New Jersey as the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board of the First National Bank of Central Jersey. The Bank's Operations Center in Bridgewater, New Jersey was dedicated to Robert R. Hutcheson after his retirement. Bob was always very active in the community. He was awarded the Watchung Area Council Boy Scouts Distinguished Citizen Award for his service to the community. He served on the Board of Directors at Angler's Cove and the Yacht and Country Club while a resident. During a twenty-year span, Bob volunteered many hours at Martin Memorial Hospital where, for a time, he served as Treasurer of the Auxiliary. "Hutch" was passionate about his family, fishing, golf, and bridge. An avid boater and fisherman, Bob retired to Angler's Cove, Hutchinson Island. When he later moved to Yacht and Country Club, he traded in his boat for a golf cart and a home on the 7th tee. Bob is survived by Betty, his wife of 64 years, three children, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 31 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Stuart, Florida. Memorial contributions may be made to "Mary's Kitchen", St. Mary's Episcopal Church. The family would like to thank Treasure Coast Hospice of Stuart for their care and support.
