William Marine Obituary

William L. Marine, Jr. William L. Marine, Jr., 74, of Vero Beach, FL died Thursday, December 15, 2005 at his home. Mr. Marine was born in Plymouth, MA and moved to Vero Beach in 1960 from Live Oak, FL. He was a Past Chairman of the Indian River County School Board and also served as a coach, teacher, dean, principal and administrator for the Indian River County School System. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Army, a Past President of the Exchange Club of Vero Beach and former member of the Lion's Club. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Lucy Marine of Vero Beach; four sons, Bill (Patricia) Marine, Chris (Debby) Marine, David (Dede) Marine and Doug (Elena) Marine all of Vero Beach; sister, Barbara Smith of Brockton, MA; sister, Priscilla Rabbitt of Sarasota, FL; sister, Carol Weaver of Wayne, PA; sister, Brenda Johnson of Houston, TX; brother, Paul Marine of Hendon, VA; and fifteen grandchildren, Chris, Sam, Gina, Chad, Amanda, Stephanie, Michael, Sara Jane, Davey, Tucker, Juan, Tommy, Lucas, Noah and Miranda Rose. SERVICES: The family will receive friends, 68 PM, Monday, December 19, 2005 at the CoxGifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A memorial celebration will take place 1 PM, Tuesday, December 20, at the First Church of God in Vero Beach. Memorial contributions may be made to the William L. Marine, Jr. Scholarship Fund, C/O Gould, Cooksey, Fennell, PA, 979 Beachland Blvd., Vero Beach, FL 32963. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach, FL. Condolences may be sent through www.seawindsf h.com/obit.php.
