Michael Reeson Obituary

Michael "Mike" Jack Reeson

February 25, 1949 - April 18, 2025

Michael "Mike" Jack Reeson, 76, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away unexpectedly at home on April 18, 2025.

Born on February 25, 1949, in Longview, Washington, Mike was the son of Jack and Martha Reeson. He grew up in Kelso alongside his three sisters Janice, Barbara Jo, and Rebecca "Becky". He graduated from Kelso High School in 1967. Shortly after graduation, Mike answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Marine Corps. He served proudly for three years, including time in the Vietnam War.

After his military service, Mike began a long and dedicated career as a boiler mechanic at Weyerhaeuser in Longview. Known for his strong work ethic and sense of humor, he was a reliable friend and colleague.

Mike had a deep love for classic cars, especially his cherished 1969 Chevelle. He had a soft spot for animals of all kinds. He found joy in the simple things, from going to the beach to spending time in the garage. Mike was always very generous and loved to help those in need.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Reeson; his daughter, Kelly Jordan (Reeson) and her mother Alice Reeson (Norcutt); and his grandchildren, Whitman Jordan, Deacon Jordan, and Kallistè Jordan.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Janice Bade (Reeson) and Rebecca Peterson (Reeson); nephew Daniel "Danny" Bade; great-nephew Kolby Rice; and niece Shelby Peterson.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at Vancouver Barracks National Cemetery on June 9th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family are invited to attend.

My late husband, Don Rowton and Mike were childhood friends. They also to school together and were in the service together. I spoke with him several times after Don's passing. A good friend.
