Paul Doumit Obituary

Paul David Doumit, 46, of Puyallup, died Aug. 10, 2004.

He was born May 13, 1958, in Longview. He lived in Cathlamet for many years, graduating form Wahkiakum High School in 1977. He graduated from Lower Columbia College in 1979 and Gonzaga University in 1984. He moved to Puyallup last year from Olympia.

Mr. Doumit was a practicing attorney in Cathlamet and Olympia for 20 years. He worked for the attorney general's office for several years in the early 1980s. He also co-owned a boat, commercial fishing in Cook Inlet, Bristol Bay in Alaska with his brother, Mark Doumit.

On Nov. 9, 2003, he married Mary Cyr in Cathlamet. She survives him. Also surviving are a son, Joel Doumit; three daughters, Hanna Kemp, Megan Kemp and soon-to-be-born, Theresa Doumit; seven brothers, John Doumit, Peter Doumit, Jim Doumit, Tom Doumit, Pat Doumit, Mark Doumit and Matt Doumit; two sisters, Helen Hein and Anne Sparks; and many nieces and nephews.

A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Catherine Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church followed by a gathering at J.A. Wendt Elementary School.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Aid Division, P.O. Box 142, Cathlamet, WA 98612 or Fire District No. 1, P.O. Box 890, Ocean Park, WA 98640.
