March 13, 1952 - July 7, 2024
LONGVIEW - On July 7, 2024, another of the precious few Army patriots left, who'd survived the rigors of the Vietnam War, had passed on to the promised land.
Richard Alan Fultz was born on March 13, 1952 in Longview to Ralph Fultz Sr. and Mildred King. He lived in the Longview/Kalama area for most of his life with his other siblings: Ralph Fultz Jr., Carol Hailing, and Karla Garland (deceased). He had the wonderful fortune of being a father to six children: Heather Krane, Ryan O'Neil, Jamie Smith, Mark O'Neil, Vicki Taylor, and Dustin Fultz. They, in turn, contributed a total of nineteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren to his legacy.
Growing up in the pacific northwest, Rick, as he was known to friend and family alike, fell in love with hunting, fishing, camping. A man of many talents and interests, Rick pursued a great many endeavors. He applied his efforts to a multitude of skills and trades including ice blasting, private investigation, truck driving, and general construction. He was also a very active member of the community and volunteered his time and skills to those in need and whenever the church needed a helping hand. One of Rick's favorite things to do was to coach/referee many of the local sports while his children played. He always made sure to bring know-how and passion with him wherever he went.
For those whose life Rick has touched or made better, we offer a chance to say good-bye and share some stories during a Celebration of Life potluck at 3:30p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Riverside Park in Kelso.
