Roger Albin Obituary

Roger Curtis Albin, 67, of Longview, died March 25, 2005, at St. John Medical Center.

He was born on Sept. 23, 1937, in Norton County, Kan., to Lowell E. and Phyllis G. (Abernathy) Albin. Roger Albin grew up in Escalon, Calif., and graduated from Escalon Union High School in 1955.

After high school, Mr. Albin attended college at Columbia Basin College. He married Helen Marie Knopf on July 4, 1960.

In 1961, Mr. Albin began a 40-year career at Cascade Natural Gas, starting off as a meter reader and advancing to become the Longview district manager. He retired as a special project manager for the company in 2001.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; a son, Scott Curtis Albin; a daughter, Kim Marie Leonard; a brother, Arlen Albin; a sister, Karla Griffin; his mother; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Karen Petty.

His viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Dahl-McVicker Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Kelso First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Henre officiating.

Interment will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mountain View Cemetery in Walla Walla, Wash., with the Rev. Leon Alden officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the giver's choice.

Dahl-McVicker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
