Alvin Drury Obituary

Alvin J. Drury, 70, of 2 Mayflower Circle Drive, died Saturday, November 18th, in St Vincent Hospital. His wife, Karen M. (Kilbridge) Drury, died in 1994.

He leaves a son, Christopher J. Drury and his wife Marie-Ines Drury of North Providence, RI; a daughter, Janmarie Drury-Dugan and her husband Edward Dugan of Leicester; 3 sisters, Carol Callahan of Bolton, Charlotte Graham of Oregon and Jean Cournoyer of Georgia; 4 grandchildren, Arianna, Brianne, Jarod and Camille; several nephews and nieces, including Deb Drury of California.

He was born in Holden, the son of Chester C. and Eleanor (Gates) Drury and graduated from Holden High School. Mr. Drury worked for the Hobart Corporation for 44 years, first as part owner of the Worcester office and later working in the Boston office, before retiring in 2001. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran during which time he fixed test planes. Mr. Drury was a member of St. Pius X Church and enjoyed his grandchildren and volunteering in his retirement.

The funeral is Wednesday, November 22nd, from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Pius X Church, 1154 Main Street. Calling hours are from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 21st, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608, or The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
