Andrew Hynes Obituary

Andrew E. Hynes, 41

MILLBURY - Andrew E. "Andy" Hynes, 41, of Millbury, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.

He leaves his adoring parents, Carl D. Hynes and his wife Lisa of West Barnstable, and Susan K. (Kuskoski) Johnson and her husband Robert of Millbury, as well as his son Connor C. Hynes, who is being lovingly raised by his sister and best friend, Lilli H. Rodriguez and her husband Luis of Millbury. He also leaves his step-siblings, Robert, Eric, and Amy Johnson and his sister's step-children, whom he cherished, Gianna, Sheyenne, and Amari Rodriguez; his Uncle Dave Perreault, Cousin Joe Perreault, Cousin Nick Casavant, Aunt Linda Smith; along with many friends and acquaintances.

Born in Southbridge, Andy was raised in Holland, MA. He completed most of his High School education at Tantasqua Regional HS. He attended and graduated from Leominster High School for his senior year in 1997. He was an outstanding cross country and track athlete, specializing in the high jump. Andy also attended UMASS Lowell, and studied Environmental Engineering.

He loved fishing, as much and as often as possible, and was a great fisherman. Andy loved watching and rooting for the Patriots and Red Sox, loved nature, animals, and his cat, Albertanameow, and, above all, loved his family the most.

Flowers are welcomed for the forthcoming services, and memorial donations in Andy's name can be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, 111 Young Road, P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515 (www.secondchanceanimals.org/donate/).

Services are being planned and will be published in the very near future. The Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements. To leave a note of condolence for his family, or to share a photo or memory, please visit www.brittonfuneralhomes.com

Four years ago tonight we went to bed not knowing we that the next day our lives would change forever. Your mother and I share our grief openly and keep your memory alive every day. We talk about you, cry, laugh, and grieve together. I hope you know what your mother continues to do in your name and honor. I know you'd be proud, and that you loved her deeply. We wait patiently in this disordered and chaotic world to someday see you again. We will be whole again. Please say hi to Hahi and Papa and the rest of the family. I think of you often and my heart still hurts. I love you.

My beautiful boy....
You brought me the best day of my life (when you were born) and the very worst day of my life when you left this earth. You were so beautiful when you were born and the same in death. This world was not easy for a beautiful soul like yours but I thank God I got to have 41 years with you. I´m glad I never gave up and went through it all with you because those are the times that real love matters the most. It´s so hard to relive this each year and it doesn´t get easier. I hope your soul is at ease, your heart is light and that there is a fishing pole in your hands...with a fish on the end of it. I miss you my beautiful boy, from a deep place only a mother can know. Until we meet again, I love you so very much.

Andy, I miss you. Your mother misses you. Connor misses you. This morning I was listening to random music, and the song "Nether Lands" came on. It brought me to my knees; the first year I listened to it daily, but hadn't heard it in a very long time. I felt you were speaking through that song, and it brought tears as well as a sense of peace. I miss you terribly, you beautiful soul.

I am lost without you Andy. We all are. You had the kindest soul, biggest heart, and never spoke unkindly of anyone. Connor talks about you every single day. He says you were the nicest person he ever knew. Smart boy...just like you. I dream of you, that I´m hugging you and talking to you. Please watch over your little boy. There is not a day goes by that I don´t think of you and miss you. In a blink of an eye we will all be together. I love you so much Andy.

Love,
Mom

I think about Andy every single day. The empty spot in our small family is huge, and I still miss hearing him say, "Hey Aunty."

Andy,

I can still hear your voice saying "Hey Aunty" and the embarrassed look on your face whenever I sang the baby baba song. And blaming me for your fear of lobsters. It is our family history to tell stories. You will always be in our stories; it is how we keep our loved ones alive in our hearts by sharing and continuing those stories. Although I am consumed with sadness, and will miss seeing your beautiful face, I promise to keep your memory alive with those who walked beside you in this lifetime by loving them the best that I can. I know you'd have wanted that. My heart hurts deeply, and I am comforted by seeing all the love and kindness in these messages to you and our family. I love you, Andy. Always have and always will. Peace to you. Aunty Linda
