Angelo Tsefrekas Obituary

Angelo P. Tsefrekas, 80

Shrewsbury/West Yarmouth - TSEFREKAS, Angelo P. 80, of Shrewsbury and West Yarmouth passed away peacefully in his home on Cape Cod surrounded by his loving family, on May 28, 2015. Born in Worcester, Angelo grew up on Highland St. with his parents, Spero and Mary, and four siblings: Andrew, Dorothy, Diane, and George. A son of Greek immigrants, Angelo worked diligently to provide the best for his family. As a young man, he worked at his parents' "kafenio" on Front St. and often spoke of his adult responsibilities at a young age. He independently put himself through college, graduating from WPI with a Master's in Engineering. Indeed, Angelo's strong work ethic and desire to succeed continued throughout his life. He had a long career as an Engineer at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA, and his true passion was real-estate, which he engaged in through retirement.

He is survived by his loving wife, Effie, of 42 years; his two sons, Spero and Basil; their wives; and two wonderful grandchildren. Angelo will be profoundly missed.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1130 Falmouth Road, Centerville, MA 02632. Visitation will be from 11AM-12PM Monday, June 1, 2015, with funeral services following. Angelo will be put to rest in a private family burial at Hope Cemetery in Worcester, MA.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions can be sent to the family's home parish of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA. 01609.

To the Tsefrekas family,
I am sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Tsefrekas. We have sent a number of whiffle balls over the fence and had to retrieve them from his yard through the years. I certainly will miss him being there...a cornerstone of the neighborhood.
Sending our thoughts and prayers from our family to yours.

Effie, Spero, Bill, and family,

My condolences on Mr. Tsefrekas' passing.

I still remember the first time I met him back in 1994, as a teenager, I drove to his house to carpool to Boston with Spero, and left my car in his driveway...at about 3 AM the "recently repaired" horn on the 1985 Oldsmobile caprice classic I was driving at the time went off and woke him and everyone else up in his neighborhood. Needless to say, I made a great first impression! A decade later, we became family through Speros' great choice of marrying my sister Maria. (Photo attached). I've since then had the pleasure of getting to know Mr. Tsefrekas over the following decade.
I truly enjoyed the time and conversations I had with him. He will truly be missed by me and my entire family.
