Anthony Notaro Obituary

Anthony "Butch" Notaro, 66, of Clinton, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a lengthy illness.

He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-four years, Margaret "Peggie" (Decker) Notaro; three brothers, Ronald S. and his wife Mary E. (Sheridan), Gary A. and his wife, Marianne (McNamara), Thomas A. and his longtime companion, Debora Monaco; three sisters, Betty Perla, Holly P. Sargent and her husband, Mark J., Laurie A. Trongone, and her husband, Kevin A., mother-in-law, Jackie Decker, all of Clinton, brother-in-law, Randy Decker of Farmington, ME, and several nieces and nephews. As Butch and his wife Peggie raised his three youngest siblings, Holly, Laurie, and Thomas, he considered their children his cherished grandchildren, Melissa and Lauren Sargent, Mikayla Notaro, and Matthew and Michael Trongone. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Alford Decker, a sister-in-law, Janet Libby, and brothers-in-law, Neil Decker and Donald Perla.

Butch was born in Clinton, son of the late, Anthony Notaro and Evelyn (Sowa) and stepson to the late Juanita (Boynton). He attended Clinton Public Grammar Schools and was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School, (Plumbing), Class of 1962. A Vietnam Veteran, he proudly served our nation in the United States Air Force. Upon his return, Butch began his career in the maintenance field in local manufacturing companies, such as Ray-O-Vac, Wheetabix, Clinton Manor Nursing Home and retired from Clinton High School in 2006. For a while he also drove nights for his father's taxi company, Tony's Taxi Service.

He enjoyed woodworking and gardening, he was a huge Red Sox and Patriots fan, he coached little league and senior league, and his memberships included, the PAV, Turner Hall and American Legion.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at 11:00 AM in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. A period of visitation will follow the services until 2 PM. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. I am so sorry for the loss of Butch-
Although I haven't seen him or Peggy in many years , he and Peggy are in my thoughts - they were always very nice. Butch loved his girls is what I remember most about him ! What a great dad and a husband he was.
