Clinton - Austin J. Brodrick, 66, passed away peacefully at UMass Medical Center on Friday, March 9, 2018. He is survived by his children, Jason Brodrick & wife Jennifer of Boylston; Alissa Brodrick of Clinton; step-daughters, Faye Lovely of Fitchburg; and JoLisa Chouinard & husband Shawn of Clinton. He leaves his siblings, James Brodrick & wife Marianne of Lancaster; Ellen Brodrick, John Brodrick, and Michael Brodrick & wife Sharon, all of Clinton; 6 grandchildren, Brooke & Brandon Lovely, Ella & Anna Chouinard, Gary Garreffi, Jr., and Austin Brodrick; several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Austin was born in Clinton to the late James & Rita (Ruane) Brodrick. He graduated from the Clinton High School, Class of 1969 and began his life long career as a painting contractor. Austie worked for Granger Construction, later E.T. Mortimer, and D.M. Crossman until the time of his passing. Often thought to be the Most Interesting Man in the World, Austie didn't always drink beer, rather he preferred ginger brandy. He was sought after to join numerous clubs and organizations, but his choice was clear; proudly holding a life membership with good standing at the Acre Athletic Club in Clinton. He was a proud patriot, a supporter of small local businesses and a frequent patron of Lou's Diner. Austie was a skilled woodworker, an all-around handyman who could fix anything, avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He had a great laugh and sense of humor, was a loyal friend, and above all, he loved his family more than life itself. Calling hours are to be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 12 until 2PM in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a celebration of life to follow at the Acre Club.
