Barbara Lamonica Obituary

Barbara R. (Warren) Lamonica, 74, of 60 Barbara Ave., formerly of 137 Providence St. in Worcester, died Sunday, October 1, 2006, in Sterling Healthcare Center, Sterling, MA, after a battle with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. She leaves her husband of 56 years, Michael R. Lamonica, Sr.; her son, Michael R. Lamonica, Jr. and his wife Lydia of Auburn; 3 daughters, Dianne J. Lamonica of Scranton, PA, Judy A. Lamonica of Worcester, Ann Marie J. Arcidi and her husband Michael of Hampton, NH; 5 granddaughters, Melissa A. Belanger, Victoria M. St. Francis, Marcy L. Lamonica, Carmela R. Arcidi, Angelina M. Arcidi; and her soon to be born great granddaughter.

She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Benjamin P. and Delia (Sawicki) Warren and graduated from Commerce High School. She lived in Worcester until moving to Auburn in September of last year.

Barbara loved cooking, gardening, ballet and the opera. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

CALLING HOURS will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St., Worcester. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, in ST. JOHN'S CHURCH, 40 Temple St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Directions and condolence book available at
