I think about Brian every single day. Though I only knew him for a short amount of time, he impacted me in so many ways. My heart and prayers are with your family.

Never again will the boy with the half smile shine his light. But his memory lives on forever. And that light. The one he would carry wherever he went. It lives on, and so will he. Forever in my heart. BAB<3

Brian, was my best friend. We had been good friends throughout middle school, then had some hard times in our freshmen year of school, but during our sophomore year together we became closer than ever. Throughout the year we had some of the best experiences I've ever had in my life and the summer going into our junior year was incredible. I miss everything about him and I know, I'll never be the same without him. I love you so much and miss you even more, Brian.

I don't know your son and even any of you. I found his obituary looking for someone with the same name who just died Aug 31.. I can't even begin to imagine what it's like to lose a child. It must be just awful, terrible, enormous, even unbearable at times. I will pray for peace for your family and for many many blessings in light of such a profound loss.

To the parents and sister of Brian,
Sometimes there are no words to say. None that are adequate. None that can ease your pain or help you to understand what has happened. So I can only say how very, very sorry I am and how your loss touches my broken heart.

I too lost a handsome, wonderful son (age 18) less than a year ago. Chad was (and always will be) the child of my heart and the love of my life. If I can be of any help ... any at all ...
I want you to know I will listen with an understanding of just how incomprehensible this loss is. This is a grief like no other. Your boy is beautiful!

With caring thoughts and much compassion,

Amanda Yacino

Dear Brad, Julie, Casey and Family, We are deeply saddened to hear of your tragic loss. We enjoyed having Brian on our little league team with our son Colin. He was a sweet, smiling and sensitive boy. We are thinking about you as we reminisce about the simpler days of little league and Big League Chew and the boys having fun whether they had a win or a loss. Keep these memories close to your heart and find comfort in them. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both day and night and I will keep a candle lit for Brian. May God grant you peace and serenity and may God Bless your precious Brian. With Love, Carol, Coach Kris, Christian, Colin and Cameron Bradley

The last name caught my attention because I played baseball with a Brad Blackburn when I was about age 9 or 10 (I believe the team name was the Rockets). I'm a bit speechless, but I wanted to send my condolences to you. I have three children and know that it would be very difficult to loose one of them too early in life.

P.S. I always felt badly the cold day that we were playing a baseball game near Taft School and you got hit by the baseball - right on your fingers. It's bad enough to get hit in the leg or something, but on the fingers on a cold day while holding the bat - not good. Stay strong - God knows all.

Brad & Julie, I didn't know you very well or your beautiful son at all, but I was at the '85 Reunion Picnic the next day when I heard of the devastating and tragic news. I am so very sorry for what you are enduring. May God give you both and your families strength to accept and move forward, never forgetting the candle Brian lit whenever he was in your presence. Know that he is still in your presence, as an angel, always.

The Blackburn Family,

I have a 16 year old son, and I can only imagine what you are going through. I know nothing seems right now, and I am not saying it will ever feel right again,,but stay strong for your other child, and most importantly, for you. Life isn't fair sometimes, but I believe it is all a test. God bless you and my prayers go out to you, your family, and Brian.

To the Blackburn Family
The worst way to have to meet someone for the first time is under these circumstances, I am so sorry for the loss of such a handsome young man. This has touched my husbands and my hearts so much. Lossing a child is the most devastating of losses, I Only hope when he was brought home to Heaven he met our son as well. He had such a huge turnout at the wake that shows how much of an impact he left on others lives even in his short time.
God Bless you all and once again Our Deepest Sympathy for you all!
