Christine Anderson Obituary

Christine Anderson, 33

WORCESTER - Christine King Anderson, 33, passed away after a valiant battle with depression on January 16, 2021.

Born and raised in Worcester, she is survived by her parents, Stephen R. and Linda M. Anderson, brothers Patrick K. of Santa Rosa, California, Peter K., sister-in-law, Kate and nephew Rory of Lake Forest, Illinois, John K. of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire and her aunt and uncle. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Gerald R. and Mary F. Anderson, and grandmother, Yvonne P. deBoissiere.

Growing up as a member of the Blessed Sacrament parish, she took great happiness in going to "God's House," in her Sunday best.

Christine was a proud graduate of Notre Dame Academy, 2005, where she was a member of the Swim and Track teams. She was a member of the Worcester Aquamaids swim team. Christine graduated from Loyola University of Chicago, 2009.

Upon graduation, she taught ESL in China for a year. Returning to the United States, she served as an Office Administrator and thereafter as a Director at the State Appellate Defenders Office in Chicago. Moving to the East Coast to be closer to family, Christine lived in Portland, Maine, where she worked as the Law Office Manager of Cordell & Cordell, a position she enjoyed and held at the time of her passing.

An accomplished runner, Christine competed in several races, including the Chicago and Boston Marathons.

In her too-brief life, she traveled extensively, making friends wherever she went. Christine had a thirst for knowledge and was an avid reader. She had a ready smile, a quick wit, and was generous to those in need. Christine lived her life with compassion and courage.

Christine worked hard to overcome her mental illness. Her family and friends are exceedingly proud of her efforts.

Christine is greatly missed and will be remembered as a good and loving daughter, sister, and friend.

The funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 at 11 a.m., at Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Those unable to attend the Mass in person may do so virtually at https://vimeo.com/athymemorialhome. There are no calling hours. We will come together to remember and celebrate the life of our daughter Christine on a date in the future when it will be safe to do so.

In lieu of flowers, Christine's family suggests donations to Blessed Sacrament Church, 551 Pleasant Street, Worcester, MA 01602, or St. John's Food for the Poor, 44 Temple Street, Worcester, MA 01604.

Christine and I were great friends in high school and have kept in touch over the years. I went for a run in memory of her tonight. I played throwback hip-hop that we listened to when we were young and I thought of her the whole time. She was one of the strongest realist people I'll ever know and had the kindest soul that was always true to herself. I will keep a piece of her with me with every run I go on. Rest easy Christine I will forever love and miss you but I know you are no longer suffering.

We attended the service virtually. It was beautiful, like Christine. I wish we could have been there, but, the times interceded. It's not fair, these issues that plague so many at such a young and vital age. We will pray for you all, for peace and for joy in the knowledge that we will see Christine again.

Steve and Family, I am so, so, so sorry for your loss!!! In a million years, I would not be able to even come close to feeling the loss you feel now! Over 35 years ago, my aunt buried her son (one also before that), and she said "a parent should never bury a child"! I am so sorry you have to experience this Steve!! My Heart and my Prayers
are with you all!!
