David Flagg Obituary

David M. Flagg, 62, of West Barnstable, on Nov. 27, 2010 at home after a long and courageous battle with multiple illnesses. Born in Worcester, MA eldest son of the late Frederick H. Flagg and Mary (Pender) Flagg. Father of Monica (David) of Charlton, MA, Emilie Flagg of W. Barnstable, Abigail Close of Syracuse, NY, and Frederick Flagg of London, England. Brother of Jennifer Padilla of Las Cruses, New Mexico, Mark Flagg (Ann), of Beverly, MA, and the late Philip H. Flagg. Grandfather of Kayla and Zachary Adams. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, his uncles Thomas Pender of FL, and Lawrence Pender of Princeton, MA, his former wife Martha Flagg of Syracuse, NY. and his companion Alexandra Wilkinson of Falmouth, MA.

He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Worcester, MA and earned a B.S. from Empire State College, Syracuse, NY. He lived and worked in Syracuse for many years before moving to Cape Cod in 2001. David was a plant manager at Aquarion Waste Water Services. He loved being by the ocean and enjoyed hiking, swimming, kayaking and clamming. He also loved his cat family and working around his property in W. Barnstable.

A funeral service will be held in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd., (RT28) Marstons Mills on Sat., Dec. 4 at 10 AM. Visiting hours Fri 6-8 PM. Memorials in his name may be made to M.S.P.C.A, 1577 Falmouth Road, Centerville, MA 02632 or Boston University Vasculitis Center, 72 East Concord St., E533 Boston, MA 02118.

David enjoyed life - enjoyed cooking, working around his property, enjoyed the people he cared about - and he brightened life for everyone around him. He displayed remarkable courage, grace and stoicism through these last difficult years. David will be deeply missed.

I am very sorry to read of David's passing. He was a good friend from work. He never let the turkeys get him down. He always lit up with smiles and became animated when he spoke of his family.
