To the Bracebridge Family,
He was a great teacher and Friend to me, I still can't believe that you are gone. He helped me while I was struggling and he was the kind of person that you could talk to and also telling me how it is. I will never forget him because he was a part of my time at the High School and getting me to be a better person and to stick up for myself. RIP till we meet again one day

So sorry to hear of Mr.B's death. He was the kind of guy you thought would live forever. My condolences to his family and to Mr.Mattei.As you know he was one in a million and like a second father to me and many others. He had a great big heart and could make you feel special just by being around him.I was in the first graduating class of culinary arts in 1977 and still remember many vivid memories. Like knocking his chef hat off with a number 10 can plastic lid. What a shot! Or emptying the entire fryolator of grease into the kitchen sink plugging it up solid as the grease hardened.Or saying the same thing over and over again just to get a rise out of him.He taught me that it was ok to make mistakes and try again. He wasn't just a teacher - he was family. We all were.I'll never forget several years ago him calling me to make sure I was going to the class reunion. I felt like royalty. His tender side was in full swing as he asked if I would be going. I told him I wouldn't miss it for the world. Over 30 years of being out of school and he could still make me feel special. He wasn't just family- he was legend.May God bless and keep you in his arms during this time of hurting.

Mr. B had such a big impact on the lives of so many students with his guidance, and fatherly advice. It helped many of us become the people we are today. Mr.B will always hold a special place in our hearts and will be greatly missed. Our deepest condolences to the Bracebridge family.

There is no other person, which I can say I personally knew that has touched so many lives, in such a short time as you B.
Working Friday nights, at The Café with you throughout my high school years, is something I have always looked back at with fond memories.
You were a teacher like no other for several of us. An adult figure to those of us that most needed it, given guidance, to try to coach us on a better path in life. You were a brother to many, whom could call on at a moment's notice and a friend, a friend we all wanted to have in our circle.
Your teachings & influences will be reflected on throughout our lives and to many of us you are nothing less than a HERO. Rest in peace B
Sharon, Shawn & Shelley and the rest of The Bracebridge Family you are in my prayers & thoughts during this time.

Dear Sharon, Shelley, Sean,
I am soo sorry for your loss. I will always remember Eddie for his kind wit and wonderful outlook on life. We shared many good times working on the Fire Brigade events, and talking about politics. Being the strong republican leader in town, and his colorful signs on the front lawn of his home on Main Street. He will remain in my heart and those of many others for many years. God bless you and your family!

The world with out Mr ED,has left a very sad and lonely place in my heart.

I'm very sorry to hear of Eddie's passing. As a young boy, Eddie joined Uncle Dan and brought several of the Helle-boy cousins ice fishing many times. He was always positive and I know my Dad also thought the world of Eddie.
July 4th parades, Fire Department Muster competitions or just sharing a laugh with my dad and uncles, Eddie was always smiling and saying hello to everyone in this otherwise complicated thing called life.
My condolences. Steve Helle

I am so heartfully saddened. He taught me so much as he did all of those he spoke to. The thing that touched me profoundly of him is something that many may have felt also, but coming from a home where no father was to be seen, he and his one on one fatherly advice, most times as I was crying in the girls room...he truly taught me that some men do care for a girl who always felt broken down. And I told him on many occasions that he made a huge difference and I adored his 'father-ness' he showed me. He said so much empowered, encouraging and meaningful words. Even still, I always thought of him after all of these years & I always looked at him with so much respect and adoration.
Prayers to his family and loved ones and he will always be remembered with love.
RIP

To Sharon & the Family of Ed Bracebridge
My Sincere condolencies & thougts are with you during these trying times.
I was a fellow classmate (CIA 63) & although I didn't know him that well at that time,I did get to know him more at the 2 reunions we had a few years ago.
I got to appreciate Ed's legacy even more while reading some of the tributes to him on line from his students during his years as an instructor.
The true measure of a man is his Loving Family & the impact he made on everyone he encountered during his time here, Ed was truly genuine.
The last time I talked with Ed, he seemed Happy & Content, hopefully he didn't suffer too much during his last days surrounded by his family.
Rest In Peace my Friend,

I type this with a very heavy heart. The world has lost an amazing man, Mr. B had an incredible impact on my future. He was not only an amazing teacher, he was like a second dad...he cared about his students. I just saw Mr. B three weeks ago at a BVT Culinary Alumni Reunion...he said "So Vallee, tell me what you have been doing with your life." I responded with being a Director of Food and Nutrition Services for Sodexo"...I then thanked him and said "all your alumni try to do you proud"...he then answered "I am proud of EVERY ONE OF YOU"! He was a remarkable man and truly loved all his students. Sharron, I am so sorry for your loss...he was loved and will truly be missed.

I was just informed of the sudden passing of a former high school teacher and dear friend, Mr. Edward Bracebridge. I just didnt believe it, but finding his obituary online, just put an end to my disbelief and reality set in. I'm sure many of us have similar sentiments -- He taught me so much, he brought me out of my shell, and I looked up to him many times as not only a leader but a second Dad! He gave me life advice many times, and he always referred to me as "Dyer"! Then, there was that unforgettable morning, I went into our Culinary kitchen; I saw him finish sharpening a chef knife, dicing potatoes, and I went up to him and said, good morning, B! He looked at me, and said morning to you, "Dyer!", and put the knife down quickly and it slipped off of the metal table, fell to the tile floor, bounced up, and the point of the knife went right into my shin, slicing my left leg open. I stood there in shock and so did he. My Dad left work to bring me to my first ER visit ever and had stitches. I will never forget how bad Mr. B felt about doing that. Mr. B always thought of others, especially his students. I was reminded at a Honor Society ceremony, he pulled out a $100 bill and shook my hand. He was an incredible person. He also taught me a few sayings I will never forget - "when in doubt throw it out!" And, "if ya got time to lean, ya got time to clean!" The last time I saw Mr. B was at my graduation party from high school and I then set out on an adventure called life and left the area. Today, I'm yet again reminded that life is short, and sometimes it's shorter than we think. Live life to the fullest everyday and tell the people you love that you love them. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. May you rest in peace, Mr. B. You will never be forgotten. My sincerest thoughts, prayers & condolences go out to his family, friends and other students as we grieve his loss together.
