Edward Butler Obituary

Edward L. Butler, 59

Oxford - Edward L. Butler of Oxford, MA, 59, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, in his home. He was predeceased by his mother, Constance (Poulin) Normandin and his stepfather, James Normandin, both of Southbridge, MA. He is survived by his father, Clarence D. Butler of Rhode Island; his brother, Mark Butler of Southbridge, MA; three sisters, Tracy Normandin-Clark and her husband William of Florida, Kari Butler of Rhode Island, and Kelly Normandin of Southbridge, MA; along with several nephews and nieces.

Mr. Butler worked at Westborough State Hospital for 27 years, retiring in 2010. After retirement, he worked at Walmart in Leicester and operated his own scrap metal business from his home. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and working in his yard, riding his motorcycle, and playing the lottery and keno. He enjoyed all animals and was especially fond of his dogs, Lou, Panda and Lexi. He will be remembered as someone who was very giving, loved to joke, told great stories, and always had a positive attitude and a smile on his face... even after losing his eye in a freak accident.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, June 27, 2016, from 5-9 p.m. at the American Legion, 227 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Edward L. Butler, Memorial Fund, Southbridge Savings Bank, PO Box 370, 253-257 Main St, Southbridge, MA 01550. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.

Also... say hello to our dog Lou up there.... Miss her too.

June 27, 2016

My heart broke when I found of his passing. He was my father Craig Camosse's roommate for a few years, and those were some of the best years of my childhood. He was so kind, funny, and most of all giving. His laugh was contagious!! I have a lot of funny/crazy stories that have him in it, I will never forget them as they played a huge role in my life. Love you Eddy, rest peacefully. Sending many prayers to the family.

Eddie was one of my best friends, we had recently reunited and spent time at his home in Oxford, fireworks in Rutland, MA and Buffums. He helped me a great deal after my husband's death and vice versa. I have very fond memories though of the good old times in North Oxford; Gasland, Twin Drive In, the tracks, the River Parties. He was very compassionate and I will miss him a great deal. RIP Eddie, until we meet again....

One of the finest people to ever walk the halls of Westborough State Hospital. Eddie was the best advocate that our patients ever had. He treated EVERYONE with respect.
