To the entire Healey family, Terribly saddened to hear of the passing of Ed. Growing up with all of you brings back such fond memories for myself and all of my siblings. We wish you strength and pray for your comfort. Across the years and miles,

I first met Ed in in 2002 at the Nuerburgring Nordschleife race track in Germany.
We 'bumped into' each other (off the track!) at least once during every one of my subsequent 12 trips over then next 5 years, both at the NS and afterhours in the PK or another restaurant in town. Ed obviously took great joy in driving, and I think even greater joy in helping others to safely and quickly experience the greatest strip of blacktop in the world.
Sharing all too few of these laps with Ed, either as passenger in his car or driving my own (trying to keep up with him!) are memories I will cherish.
We often traded friendly banter on internet forums and emails, where he was well known and respected in the motorsports community.
The last time I saw Ed in person was when he sent me and my now-wife off in the early hours from his home after graciously hosting us for 2 nights in August of 2007.
There are very few people I've met in my 38 years on this earth with the same level of warmth, good spirits, humility, humor and generosity than Ed Healey.
He is missed by many, indeed.
RIP

Ed had been on our minds all summer. We knew how ill he was, but his last email in June was positive and you could still see his smile in his words.
It is hard to put into words how much we miss Ed already. He was a great, long time friend who we shared many adventures with. Track meets, car races, the lake, and the Sunday afternoon phone calls, "I am driving through Connecticut and will stop and see you guys". We even stayed in touch and saw Ed twice when he moved to Ireland.
The hammer throwing world and auto racing has lost a great friend, competitor and supporter.
We hope that all that knew him will keep his memory alive with "Ed" stories.

I've been thinking of the Healey family since I heard the news that Ed was ill. Many long time friends rallied to show support, truly a testament to the strong connections Ed made during his life.
I met Ed while we were in high school and haven't seen him in many years. But seeing recent photos I can see that his trademark smile never changed.
Ed will live on in the memories of his children, family and friends.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Ed was truly my best friend at Holy Family Elementary School and Notre Dame High School. Wherever he was, whatever he was doing, it was the best place, the most fun thing to do. I miss him.

Dear Healey Family,
I am truly sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of Ed from his visits to Forest Park as a child to our later outings as "adults" to The Lake, Slattery's, Boston and beyond. He always wore a wonderful smile which was indicative of his charm and warmth. Please know that I am thinking of you.
