It doesn't seem that long ago when you were called home. Becky and I talk about Eric quite a bit. He became a member of our family and is sorely missed. RIP my friend

I remember a very young Eric at Saturday Club (weekly open house at Grandma 's). There could be ten to twenty people there throughout the morning. Eric devised a clever plan for himself. He approached each person and asked for a dollar. He was so cute, no one could refuse and some gave a little extra. He made out quite well until the adults found out he was hitting everyone! Good one, Eric. Despite his struggle with addiction, he left us with some joyful memories. Love you, Eric. From your favorite aunt. BTW, each of his aunts was his "favorite ".

I am so sorry to hear this. I was in rehab with Eric in April of this year, and he was always making me laugh, and was one of the few people that helped me during the detox phase. Pushed me to stay and told me it wasn't worth it to leave. My deepest condolences go out to his girlfriend, daughter, parents, and his family.

Yoooo! Eric, your are my cousin and best friend. You were without a question THE FUNNIEST person I've ever known. Whenever you were around you would turn any situation into a moment of laughter. You were loving, humble, strong and absolutely hilarious. If anybody was lucky enough to get to know you, then they have the lifelong impression you left them with, one of light-heartedness, compassion, love, a strong sense of friendship and unforgettable humor. If people could just realize just how hard you fought this insidious disease of addiction, they would be in awe. You were so so strong during the most devastating of situations, and God knows you've endured them. Your truly are a beacon of light for all of us Eric. Especially for all of your brothers and sisters in recovery. We love you kid. Thank you for your everlasting light. Rest easy man.

Yooooo! Eric, your my cousin and best friend. You were without a question the funniest, most light hearted person I've ever known. I've never laughed so hard and felt so comfortable when you were around me. You were such a good friend to so many people man. Especially your network of brothers and sisters in recovery. If people could only see just how hard you fought this disease of addiction they'd be in awe. You were so strong during some of the most unimaginable hardships that life could throw at a person. You were and still are a beacon of light for all of us Eric. Your never going to leave our hearts and minds and for that I am very grateful. We love you. See you on the other side brother.

Condolences to all of Eric's family who must now grieve the loss of a young man gone far too soon....I pray you all will find solace in knowing Eric IS at peace from a disease whose grip is unrelenting....it has caused much pain & ripped at the very heart of another family & those who knew & loved him BUT it HAS NOT WON...it has brought you all to a place where LOVE & support for each other will strengthen your family bond & show Eric's daughters that they CAN go on & that love NEVER DIES...the days ahead will not be easy but speak of him often & KNOW he IS watching over all of you...

Having lost my first grandchild ( 31 ), I know your pain...I've seen the damage this disease has caused but we DO celebrate his life & speak of Michael often so that his daughter (born a month after his passing) will know him & feel the love we all had for him...I watched the pain on his Mother's face & so my heart aches for Eric's parents as you will grieve likee no other...I applaud your strength in allowing the reason for his passing to be made known for every time it is said brings a reminder to those left behind that they need to find help before it is too late...

May you feel God's loving arms around you as move on as eric would want....may you find some comfort knowing you are NOT walking this road alone....MANY others you do not even know REALLY care & pray for your peace...
Sincerely,
Christine M

Donna and Family,
So sorry to hear of your loss. Cousin Sherry told me about Eric's passing yesterday. Quite a shock. I do believe I met him the day Sherry and I visited with you Donna. Your boys were popping in and out of the house that day. I would have gone with Sherry to the funeral, but my mother in law has passed and it's on the same day. Hugs to all.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
