Benoit, 83

Uxbridge - Eugene "Joe" M. Benoit, 83, died Friday, March 27th, 2015 at St. Camillus Health Ctr. surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his 3 sons, Richard Benoit of Homasassa, FL, David Benoit of Pinellas Park, FL and Mark Benoit of Uxbridge with whom he lived; 1 daughter, Carol Perry of Jaffrey, NH; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Roland Benoit of Three Rivers, MA and William Benoit of Shrewsbury; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Donna Benoit; 4 sisters, Josephine Lussier of Northbridge, Evelyn Cloutier of Southbridge, Pauline Choquette of Northbridge and Jane Beauregard of Key West, FL; 2 brothers, Romeo Benoit and Leo Benoit both of Northbridge; his first wife, Rita D. (Barrette) Benoit and his second wife, M. Rita (Lortie) Benoit. Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of Eugene and Doris (Montville) Benoit and lived most of his life in Northbridge.

He worked at Framingham Union Hospital as a Maintenance Supervisor until his retirement in 1993. He served in the U.S. Army as a Private during Vietnam. Joe was a semi-pro lightweight boxer and an avid coon hunter. He also owned and raced horses many years. He loved spending his retirement years visiting with friends for coffee at Burger King in Whitinsville on a daily basis.

His funeral will be held at Saint Camillus Chapel, 447 Hill St., Whitinsville on Tuesday, March 31st at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. A Calling Hour in the chapel will be held on Tuesday, March 31st from 9-10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's memory may be made to St. Camillus, 447 Hill St., Whitinsville, MA 01588 or JHC Hospice, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609.
