Jenning Benoit Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Marietta Funeral Home & Crematory - Marietta on Jan. 28, 2026.
Jenning Beutel Benoit, lovingly known as Jay, was born on July 28, 1990, at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, to Marie Agathe Benoit and Joseph Carmilord Benoit. From an early age, Jay was a happy yet shy child with a gentle spirit. He was playful but careful, known for his love of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and for his thoughtful nature. As a young boy, he watched his brother jumping out of his crib, but he would never follow him closely, often hesitant to act for fear of getting into trouble, a reflection of his respectful and conscientious character even at a young age.

Jay grew into a model child who never had to be told twice. He respected everyone, always wore a warm smile, and believed deeply in validating others' right to be who they are and to live as they choose. His calm demeanor, kindness, and quiet confidence made him easy to love and easy to be around.

Throughout his academic life, Jay was a dedicated and accomplished student. From first grade through high school, he never missed one single time on the Honor Roll after overcoming a reading deficit in just one year. He attended Life University where he was always on Dean's List. He later transferred to the University of Georgia, where he continued to maintain excellent grades. Jay earned his Biochemistry degree and in Business Administration. He later lived in New York for about a year before moving to Dallas, Texas, to pursue work opportunities.

Jay did not argue, except occasionally over sports, and even then, he was quick to walk away. If a conversation became loud or tense, he never talked back. He was respectful, trustworthy, serious about his responsibilities, and deeply mindful of boundaries. His calm presence and gentle nature made him someone everyone felt comfortable with.

Jay survives his loving parents, Marie Agathe Benoit and Joseph Carmilord Benoit; his older brother Ricardo Benoit, who always looked out for him. His younger brothers, Vladimir Benoit, whom he loved and respected deeply, was also his travel companion. His half-brother whom he got to know and respect Jr. Benoit very much. He also leaves behind his beloved Aunt Baby, whom he was always happy to see and embrace, and his Aunty Yva whom he loved very much. His Uncle Michel Benoit and his wife Meme, and many cherished cousins including Dorothy Pascale, Marlory, Gary, Sidney, Boule, Brunette, Gelique, Maya, Skye, Jade, Prince, Sabrina, Sarah, Sydney Jr., Jayden, Shaniaya, Stevie along with countless other cousins and family members and friends.

Jay was loved by many for his kindness, respect, gentle smile, and calm ways. He made people feel appreciated, valued, and genuinely cared for.

Jay often called his mother the hardest-working person he knew. In turn, his mother described him as the most devoted and hardworking human being. His father lovingly called him "my blanc," because Jay lived his life with honesty, discipline, focus, and unwavering calm.

Jay's presence will be and already be missed by his parents, siblings, extended family, and all who knew and loved him. Their family lives will never be the same without his smile, his quiet strength, his kindness, and the irreplaceable way he touched every heart he encountered.
