I met Gene Schofield and he became my financial advisor and friend. While in college I worked at Memorial Hospital as a blood bank technician. Grace Hill used to come in and get blood transfusions that were given in the Blood Bank. My parents had bought stock for all of us and had a different broker. I was reading Times Magazine and saw Communication Satellite came out with an offering of $20 a share and had doubled. My father looked it up and it was up to $42. He told me to buy it and I said I would wait for another stock. Comsat went up, doubled, split etc. I told Gene this story and he said to me "Bears make money, bulls make money, but never do." I have kept that philosophy with my investments. Thank you Gene Schofield.

Uncle Gene you have blessed me with so many wonderful memories!
I remember the Circus where I was afraid to visit the elephant tent and you tricked me by taking me through the back door! You gave me a peanut to feed the elephant and he ended up eating my bracelet that dopp into his trunk.
I remember sleeping over at your friends summer camp where you saved me from the monster at the bedroom window that turned into the tree branch sweeping against the window !
You are my hero ! Rest in a peace you so richly deserve
Love, Linda Bonczek

Rest In Paradise Gramp. You have impacted my life in too many ways to even begin to list. Kind, gentle, intelligent person that always left a room with a view of the smiles he left on the faces of those who had the blessing of interacting with him. "Try to always see the positive Willie". With that said. I will do my best to come close to the man you were, though I will fall detrimentally short, that in itself will be a blessing. I will love and miss you till we meet again. I love you Gramp. Rest well...

I cannot reminisce about my church family without this wonderful man's gentle smiling face being part of the memory. Well done, good and faithful servant. You will be missed and forever loved.

I first knew Gene as a young child in our neighborhood in Auburn, MA. Gene, Enid, Cindy, Carol and John were my neighbors and how lucky I was to have such fine neighbors. My earliest memory of Gene was that he was a great Dad and a parent I felt so comfortable around. My parents thought highly of Gene, especially my mother, Anne, who loved it when Gene, forever, the witty, wise and charming neighbor graced our home with a visit. I got older and went my way as young people do. Later in life I reconnected with Cindy, who was my age, and with Gene, Carol and John. Enid had left for heaven. What a gift, what a blessing to be with Gene and his family again and at an age when I could truly glimpse, behold and appreciate the wisdom and beauty of Gene's spirit. Forever, a teacher, a mentor and a humble man Gene never took himself too seriously. I learned to take things in stride. I'll do my best to live up to Gene's example of how to live an exemplary life but I will fall short. That is alright. No one is keeping score; certainly not Gene who never judged others but always tried to help. Cindy, Carol and John, my heart goes out to you. Know I hold your Dad and Mom dear in my heart as I hold you. Be well and heal.
All my Love,
Thalia

From my earliest memories, Uncle Gene always had time for me. A smile, a funny story. Always interested in my life and that of my family. He tried in vain to teach me to yodel !!!! But by example he did teach me to care for people. I will miss you Uncle Gene and I will cherish the memories.

This consummate gentleman, a brilliant and intuitive soul who loved God and was an excellent steward of His creations, including us, will be missed. I am deeply grateful for his witness and to have been counted as one of his friends while he wore his earth suit. Family, you are in my prayers for comfort and strength as you mourn. Gene, I loved every minute working with you on missions at GPC. Peace to your spirit which now soars free from pain and gleefully greets friends and loved ones who preceded you. 'Til we meet again ❤

Psalms 90:10 says that the days of our years are 70 years, And if because of special mightiness they are 80 years.
May the memories of the wonderful times you shared together bring a smile and joy in your heart.
