Frank J. Iafrato, 90

HOLDEN - Frank J. Iafrato, 90, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Avery Manor in Needham after an illness. He was born in Worcester, the son of Angelo and Frances (Cirelli) Iafrato and had lived in Worcester before moving to Holden in 1969.

His loving wife of 61 years, Christine M. (Bisceglia) Iafrato, passed away on November 1, 2014; He leaves two sons, Frank M. Iafrato and his wife, Anna of Marshfield Hills and David J. Iafrato and his wife, Christine of Carmel, IN; three sisters, Loretta Brinier, Connie DiBenetto and Anne Umphrey, all of Worcester; five grandchildren, Alexi, Michael, Daniel, Robert and Patrick Iafrato; and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Rita Carpone.

After graduating from Commerce High School in 1943, Frank enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a Corporal and served with Battery C 776th Field Artillery Battalion which was part of General George S. Patton's 3rd Army. Following his service to his county, Frank graduated from New England School of Accounting and worked for and later became general manager of Zotolli's Chevrolet in Holden. He enjoyed woodworking, reminiscing about the "army days" and was an avid New England sports fan. He was a former member of St. Mary's Church in Jefferson and Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Church in Worcester.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Friday, January 23, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A private committal service will be held at St. John's Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
