Frank Peraino Obituary

Mr. Frank L. Peraino, of Shrewsbury, died unexpectedly, Saturday, March 19, 2011 in UMASS Medical Center from complications of multiple myeloma. He was 55.

Frank was born on May 17, 1955 in Hackensack, N.J., a son of the late Leonard F. and Helen (Wistermeyer) Peraino. He graduated from Lodi High School. He earned both his Bachelor and Master Degrees in Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology.

His professional career began at PSEG in New Jersey where he met Diana L. Iscaro. After a year courtship they married on May 3, 1980 in The Church of the Assumption in Rose Hill Park. He then worked for U.S. Energy Partners before moving to Massachusetts to take a position with All Energy Co. based in Waltham. In 2003, with work associate and friend, Bill O'Brien, they formed Risk Services Group, Inc. in Shrewsbury which works with commercial, industrial and institutional businesses to control their energy costs for natural gas and electricity. Frank was still working at the time of his death.

He is described by Diana and the kids as a man who epitomized family. Frank defined an unmatchable and determined hard work ethic all the while remaining humble with his accomplishments. He loved time with his family; either coaching his son, Paul, in his Special Olympics sports of bocce and basketball or David's baseball and football teams. He was a voracious reader and avid golfer and loved his tee times at Mount Pleasant Country Club in Boylston. Frank described the best place on earth as Disney and his family recalls with fondness the many trips and memories of vacations and time spent in Florida. Mindful and loyal to his roots, Frank was a die-hard fan of the New York Yankees and the Giants. Simply stated, Frank Peraino loved life. He will be so very missed.

Frank leaves his wife of 30 years, Diana L. (Iscaro) Peraino; his children, Paul F. Peraino, Lisa M. Edmonson and her husband, Dan, all of Shrewsbury and David M. Peraino of Brooklyn, NY; his siblings, Philip Peraino and his wife, Janet, of Sparta, NJ and Sharon Saunders and her husband, Warren, of Westwood, NJ; his in-law family, Frank and Pauline (Lesko) Iscaro, Joseph and Sharon Iscaro and Frank and Denise Iscaro; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Frank's life by gathering for calling hours at Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors ~ The Sumner House, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:45 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.

Diana, Paul, Lisa and David,
Although it's been years since we were all together, but most recently bumping into you and your family on the boardwalk, I'll always remember the incredible love you and Frank shared, along with the special closeness both of you had with your beautiful children. I'll never forget what a kind, gentle, handsome man Frank was. My heart aches for you. You are in our prayers.

Diana and Family,
I don't even know where to begin. You've heard the expression band of brothers, well that's what Frank was to me and the guys. Growing up from the age of 12 on, you forge a love and friendship that spans a lifetime no matter how often you speak or see one another. Those formative years when boys become men have so many lasting memories. Frank, my brother Al, and Joe...we were park boys. Grew up with not much, but had the best friendship in the world. Cap, Becker, Jeff, Frankie L, Steve, Alan S, all of us, we had each other. Going to Yankee games, lift the latch, mothers, all in search of that special one. I'm so glad Diana you found each other. I could remember as if it was yesterday me and Beth on South main street. You and Frank in the opposite direction in his Monte Carlo. All of us pulling to the side of the road to tell us you had just gotten engaged. You couldn't have been more happy, and neither could we.To your children, a finer man there was not. The years of love and happiness are more than what most of us get in a lifetime. We were truly blessed to share Frank. I know I speak on behalf of all the guys that we loved Frank, and give our prayers and love to all of you.

To my friend Frankie
Truly I was saddened to hear of your passing. When we were growing up you were like another big brother to me. Although I have not seen you for years; I felt pain in hearing of your death. You were the first of the guys to land a really great job after college. Now you are the first to get promoted to heaven. I close my eyes and remember the crazy things we did growing up. You touched my heart when I was but a boy and you touched my heart again as a man.

March 22, 2011

Frank was such a nice man - He was so kind to my brother, Bill, as he started Special Olympics so late in life. He was a great coach and the epitome of what a Special Olympic coach should be. Diana, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time.

Frank Peraino, Classmate, Lodi High School, 1973...
A intelligent, soft spoken, sweet and wonderful person who will always be remembered by his classmates from Wilson grammar school, Lodi H.S. and neighbors of Lodi, NJ

In a time when most young boys were let's say "acting their age", Frank rose above, dared to be better and excelled in everything he did, setting an example for all of us to follow through life.

Although he did not live locally, he was never forgotten by his classmates and friends and always respected. The first word everyone says when they think of him is ...a real gentlemen.

To his family, we are so sorry for your loss. We who admired Frank always held him close to our hearts through all the years.

To the Periano Family.
Frank was truly the person we should all aspire to be!We were born one day apart in the same hospital in N.J.and were very close friends in grammer and one year of high school. We watched the 1969 Mets win the World Series in his living room. He was always an outstanding student and I am sure he was a great Husband, father, and friend. He will always be in your hearts. May your greif pass quickly.

Frank Peraino, LHS Class of 1973. Remembered by so many classmates from Wilson Grammar school and Lodi High School as a sweet kid and a gentlemen at such a young age when most boys were, let's just say, "acting their age".

Frank was so intelligent, soft spoken and treated his classmates and teachers with nothing but respect.

Our sympathies to his family for this tremendous loss. He has been always thought of and though he did not live locally always hoped to see him once again at our reunions.

We are very proud to call him our classmate.
