Frederic Steeves Obituary

Mr. Frederic Steeves, 90, passed away January 1, 2008, after a recent illness.

He is survived by two sons, Charles Steeves and his wife Christine of North Grafton and Ian Steeves and his wife Caroline of E. Harpswell, ME; two brothers, Earl Steeves of Washingtonville NY and Bertram Steeves of Newburyport; two grandsons; two granddaughters; a great granddaughter and grandson and two step great grandsons. He was predeceased by another son, George; two brothers and one sister. Mr. Steeves met his wife Janet (Borthwick) during World War II in England as they were both serving their countries, he in The US Army and she in The Royal Air Force. They married there and were together until her passing in 1992. Mr. Steeves was born December 17, 1917 in Gray Maine the son of Earl and Elizabeth (Vosmos) Steeves and has lived many years in Leicester. He graduated from Leicester High School, Clark University in Worcester, earning a BA in science and then from The University of MA Amherst, with his MS in chemistry. He was in charge of operations of the chemistry laboratories at Clark University for 25 years retiring at age 85. Mr. Steeves was a longtime member of The Unitarian Church of Leicester.

Funeral services and interment in Pine Grove Cemetery in Leicester will be at the convenience of his family. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested by his family to the Unitarian Church of Leicester. A condolence book is available at:
