Gaye Stevens Obituary
WORCESTER - Gaye M. Stevens, 79, of Worcester, died Wednesday, May 7th in her home. Her husband Everett G. Stevens, died in 2000. She leaves her son, Robert A. Stevens; three daughters, Deborah L. Stevens, Roxanne Stevens-McKeon and her husband, Kevin and Nancy J. Campbell all of Worcester; two brothers, Jay G. Black of Virginia and Nicholas W. Black and his wife, Eleanor of Brennan, WA; a sister, Te-Ata Hery of Williamsburg, VA; three grandchildren, Christopher and Daniel Campbell and Katie Lee McKeon; a great-granddaughter, Nora Carroll; and several nephews and nieces; as well as brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerry Stevens and his wife, Karen and David Stevens and his wife Regina, Frank Wolanski and his wife, Roberta and Paul McKeon and his wife Cheryl. Her brother, Joseph Hery and sister Penelope Beckwith predeceased her.
She was born in Holden, the daughter of Thais (Beckwith) Black. Mrs. Stevens was a graduate of Worcester Girl's Trade School; and was a member of St. Peter's Parish.
Her funeral is Monday, May 12th from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 929 Main Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park. Calling hours are Sunday, May 11th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

To gaye's children,
There is magic in a mother's touch and sunshine in her smile. There is love in everything she does to make our lives worthwhile. We can find both hope and courage just by looking in her eyes. Her laughter is a source of joy,her words are warm and wise. There is kindness and compassion in her embrace. And we see the light of heaven shining from a mother's face.
May your beloved mother rest in peace!!! She was a friend of mine,many years ago,when her niece nicole came down from VA to visit for the summer & brought her pony!!! I would've never met gaye,if the niece didn't have to find a place to board the pony for the summer. I'm glad we met,and we had many chats at the barn in Leicester. She was a remarkable woman!!! Always remember that love never dies!!! Your mother is with you,every second,of everyday. Cherish the memories of your mother,now,it will help you through the mourning process!!! I'll treasure the chats I had with her at the barn,back in the 80's forever now. She will be MISSEd by all who were lucky enough to know her!!! Fly with the angels,gaye,and watch over the rest of us!!!

Like the boughs of a tall pine or evergreen you greeted all. Outstretched limbs (arms) welcomed, enveloped and comforted all. You provided shelter and comfort to many from the storms that life can provide.
The joy of simple things: morning coffee (sipped from a demi cup), butternut squash and mashed potatoes, a cozy shawl and a yankee candle.
Above all, the love of your family and the Spirit of Christmas which you kept all year through.

Rest in peace,Gaye!!! I'll never forget that summer,your niece nicole came down to visit you,and brought her pony!!! We had alot of chats at the barn in Leicester.
