George Castle Obituary

"Sonny" George W. Castle Jr., 74, of Worcester died peacefully Saturday, October 27, 2007, at home, surrounded by his family.

George is survived by his wife of 10 years and companion for thirty years, Jean M. (Napoli) Castle; his mother, Theophilia (Kirch) Castle; his children, George Jr., Michael, and Rickie Castle all of Spencer, Lorraine Arguin, and Sharon Norgren, Christopher Napoli of Worcester, and Craige Napoli of Florida, Cynthia Kacevich and Cheri Joudi both of Worcester; three brothers, Paul, Vincent and Richard Castle, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. And his good friends from the Drelinger family, Kevin Gordon, John Kacevich, and Clay Santimore. A son, Billy Castle, and a sister, Dorothy Crosley predeceased him.

Sonny was born in Worcester son of the late George Castle and has lived here all his life. He attended Worcester Public Schools and was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a painter for the Drelinger Painting and Decorating Company for thirty years and was still working up until his passing.

Funeral services will be held Monday evening at 7 PM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Calling hours will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM. After cremation burial will be private. Contributions may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.

I am so sorry to learn of Sonny's passing. We go back 30 years in the industry and he was a very valued friend, associate, and employee. I am sorry that I am in Miami at this time and not able to attend the calling hours.
