George Lendall Pendleton

UXBRIDGE - George Lendall Pendleton, of Uxbridge and formerly of East Douglas, age 76, died at home on Friday, March 12th after a period of declining health.

He was born on July 10, 1944 to the late Lendall G. and Cora (Lunt) Pendleton in Woonsocket, RI.

George grew up in East Douglas and graduated from UMass Amherst with a bachelor's degree in horticulture. He worked at Milford Regional Hospital as a surgical and endoscopy technician for over 50 years.

He proudly served for the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a hospital corpsman.

George thoroughly enjoyed time spent in Provincetown and on the Hawaiian Islands. He enjoyed growing beautiful flowers and plants. Recently, he enjoyed ancestral studies. Most of all, George enjoyed spending time with family and friends.



He is survived by his daughter, Debra Grace Hall and her husband Kevin of Charlotte, N.C.; his grandchildren: William, Emily, Erica and Andrew, all of Charlotte, N.C.; his sisters: Jean Blackburn of Estero, FL and Linda Nelson of Uxbridge and his sister in-law Theresa Pendleton of Uxbridge; his dear friends Mario Correia of East Providence and Yvette Duprey of Mendon; many loving nephews and nieces and a large circle of close friends around the country. He was predeceased by his brother Charles Pendleton.

Visiting hours will be held for George on Wednesday, March 17th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Buma Funeral Home, 101 N. Main Street, Uxbridge and on Thursday, March 18th from 10:00-11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. A service will follow at 11:00 A.M. Face coverings and physical distancing required.

Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in George's name may be made to: Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation, 14 Prospect St., Milford, MA 01757.

george was my cousin which I saw once in a while in the hospital and I wish I had known that he passed because I would have gone to the wake and funeral but too little too late. I am sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful and funny man.

I am so sorry to hear of George"s passing. We graduated together from Douglas High school . He was a very thoughtful and kind person to everyone., always had a smile whenever you saw him . Rest in Peace My Dear Friend.

George was a kind and thoughtful man. A good friend to my late partner, David Alves, and a kind friend to me. A number of years back, we shared many Thanksgiving dinners at my house.
He lived a "golden rule" life. A good resume indeed. I'm grateful and lucky that our paths crossed.
