Grace Whipple Obituary
Blackstone - Grace P. Whipple, 49, of Saint Paul Street, Blackstone died October 29th, 2015, in her home. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of Edward and Pauline (Mailhot) Whipple of No. Smithfield Besides her parents, she is survived by her sisters, Christine Whipple of Northbridge and Lisa and her husband Bill Desrosiers of Millville, her nieces and nephews, Adam, Bryan, Zachary, and Jessica Desrosiers, as well as her niece and goddaughter, Sarah Leviton. Grace is predeceased by her grandparents Edgar and Pauline (Ferrier) Mailhot and Lester and Ruth (Young) Whipple.
Grace was a Girl Scout for ten years and very active in high school, enjoying cheerleading and playing saxophone in the BMR band. She loved gardening and was an expert gymnast. Throughout her teen years, Grace attended Douglas and Portsmouth camp each summer and was active in her church youth group. During high school, she traveled in the Christian singing group, Promises. Following high school, Grace attended CCRI.
Grace was a very giving, loving, loyal friend to her immediate and large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She adored her cats, Buddy and Mamma and often volunteered at cat shelters. She enjoyed movies, card games, knitting, and going out to eat and would always carry a camera to record those precious moments. Grace was instantly ready to help anyone, often including seniors with transportation needs and social visits. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Slatersville Congregational Church, on the common, Slatersville, RI. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farm Street in Blackstone, MA. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 PM in the Holt Funeral Home at 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket, RI.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Massachusetts Coalition for Suicide Prevention, Attn: Linda Spicer, Justice Resource Institute, 160 Gold Street, Needham, MA 02492 (in the memo line of the check, please include MCSP donations and Grace's name), or to the Woonsocket Cat Sanctuary, 266 Mendon Road, Woonsocket, RI 02895.

I had the pleasure meeting Grace when she purchased a vehicle from Imperial Chrysler at the beginning of the year. During the paperwork process, she was personable, kindhearted, humble and extremely patient. You are in a better place now Gracie. On behalf of Imperial Chrysler Dodge Jeep, may you rest in peace.

God Bless Grace and the family. Attended High School with Grace and Lisa at BMR. Grace was a wonderful person with a heart of gold. Thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
