Helen A. Cleary, 88

Worcester - Helen A. (O'Neill) Cleary, 88, of Worcester, passed away, Saturday, September 17th in her home surrounded by her loving family. Her husband, Thomas J. Cleary, died in 2011. She leaves two sons, Joseph P. Cleary and his wife Ann of West Boylston and Lawrence T. Cleary and his wife Lori of San Diego, CA; two daughters, Kathleen G. Tighe and her husband Dennis of Sutton and Maureen M. Cleary and her spouse Theresa Neaz of Uxbridge; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Dubois.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Joseph P. and Katherine (Foley) O'Neill and graduated from the former High School of Commerce. She spent her career as a homemaker devoted to her family. Mrs. Cleary was an active lifelong member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and it's Women's Guild. She enjoyed golfing and playing cards and was a member of Hillcrest Country Club. She treasured summers spent boating and swimming at Webster Lake and time spent with her family most of all. Her Irish heritage and extended family were a great source of joy. She took special delight in the accomplishments of her grandchildren.

The family is grateful for the extraordinary care and compassion provided by the team of professionals at Associated Home Health Care and Beacon Hospice. Special thanks are extended to her neighbors for their friendship, helping hand, and kindness over the years. Their support and concern for her well-being after the passing of her husband is deeply appreciated by her family.

Her funeral is Wednesday, September 21st with a Mass at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603.O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, is assisting with arrangements.
