Helen Wassell Obituary

Helen M. (Trocki) Wassell, 86, died Wednesday, August 19th in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, after a brief illness.

Helen's husband, of 57 years, Michael J. Wassell, Sr., died in 1998. She leaves a daughter, Sheila Young and her husband, Danny of Florida; four sons, Michael J. Wassell, Jr., of Worcester, Richard W. Wassell and his wife Terry of Sutton, Robert J. Wassell of Millbury and Walter R. Wassell of Auburn; five grandchildren, Robert and his girl friend Michelle Lager, Laura, Scott and his wife Christina, Heidi, Heather Wassell and Cheyenne Young; four great-grandchildren, Benny, Eli, Jude and Asher Wassell; nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wassell was born in Chelsea on March 31, 1923 and is predeceased by her parents Bolislaw and Mary (Michalowski) Trocki, a son, David, a sister, Dorothy (Tatro) DiCandia and a brother, Walter Tatro. She was raised in Chelsea and Worcester and has lived in Millbury for 48 years.

In the 1950's and 60's Helen worked in several area factories to help support her family. Helen and her husband, Michael enjoyed Polish dancing and traveling to Polish events with their friends, for many years. She enjoyed her dog Missy, bingo, visiting the Millbury Senior Center and their bus trips to Foxwoods.

Helen's funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., in Millbury. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 24th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. My sympathies in this loss.. This is Bobby Tortora... I grew up at 4Shelby st... and rememer Walter and i used to play together on Shelby St before the Expressway came through.... not sure if you all remember me.. but I saw that Helen died and I remember her very well as a sweet lady on the third floor of 18 Shelby St .. my grandmother Antionette lived on the second floor.... again my sympathies and prayers at this time... if you would like to contact me thru email, my email is [email protected] ..
