I loved your dad, grandfather as he was my doctor for so many years. He even made house calls for me when I was ill.
He was a wonderful doctor and friend. You could tell him anything.
He always had a smile on his face, and treated you with respect.
It was hard to find another Dr. like him.
He always spoke about all of you with high regard.
He will be missed very much.
My condolences to all of you.

Hank was such a gentle, intelligent, and warm man. We all so looked forward to seeing Hank every summer at the Cape and experience his warm hug and genuine smile. Always such a loving father, devoted husband and caring friend. The world has lost a special spirit, but I'm sure that Maureen and Hank are enjoying his homecoming together! I was very sad to read of the passing of the wonderful Dr. Kirkendall. I have wonderful memories of him during and after my two pregnancies. We delivered my son in the middle of the night with a natural childbirth. This allowed us to share a bottle of champagne in the recovery room. We delivered my daughter, who was a "Frank Breech" in the morning, so we had to postpone our champagne until later in the day. He was an amazing man who shared the excitement and joy of each and every parent at the birth of their children. I am eternally grateful to him.

I had the privilege of having THE best Dr. Care for me during a high risk pregnancy, that ended with a planned c-section on June 12, 1990 (he was stopping his obstetrics practice on June 30, 1990.) I was worried and he would give me a Dr. Marcus Welby-type hug and tell me that everything would be alright. I believed him and it was. RIP, my friend and wonderful Dr.!

April 16, 2015

So sorry for the loss of your Husband and Dad, he was the most gentle, compassionate, and wonderful Doctor that I have every had. He delivered my two very special sons, not to mention the surgery that I had done by him. There are "NO"Doctors like him any more. He was certainly one of a kind as you all know. Always took time for his patients and made them feel special. I was sad when he retired and I had to find another Doctor to replace him (which never happened) but happy that he would be relaxing with the family that he loved and talked about so much. Also will miss him at Dino's Restaurant and all the talks we would have. May he Rest In Peace , he was the best
