Howard A. Hawkesworth, 86

WORCESTER - Howard A. Hawkesworth, age 86, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his home.

He leaves two daughters, Debra O'Donnell and husband Christopher of Worcester, and Donna Quick of Worcester; three sons, Brien Hawkesworth of Gardner, Gary Hawkesworth and wife Gloria of Henderson, NV, and Peter Hawkesworth and wife Michelle of Indian Trail, NC, 21 grandchildren, Jennifer Bouley wife of James, Chris, John, Matthew and Jillian O'Donnell, Megan, Harry and Dan Quick, Noel and Patrick Hawkesworth, Tom and Katina Hawkesworth, Alexandra, Shawn, Josh, Samantha, Michael, and Thomas Hawkesworth, and Robert, Stephen and Katie Tommy, great granddaughter; Ava Hawkesworth; his sister Jane McRae of Spencer, and his brother Philip Hawkesworth and wife Elaine of Mystic, Ct. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter Diane Tommy of Northborough, his brother Peter Hawkesworth of Okinawa, Japan and his sister Nancy Kellogg of Marshfield.

Howard was born on June 1, 1931 in Worcester, to the late Ambrose T. and Reba (Berry) Hawkesworth. He graduated from Classic High School.

Mr. Hawkesworth was the owner of Townsend Machinery of Worcester and sold machinery throughout New England.

The family wishes to thank Howard's primary care physician Dr. Robert Honig, Dr. Theo Meyer and Kelley Prokop N.P. of UMass-Memorial cardiology, Elder Care Services aides Connie, Diane, Selena and Elizabeth, and Adele Hanks R.N. of Salmon Hospice.

There will be a calling hour Thursday, September 14, at Noon in the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. A prayer service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

So sorry to hear if his passing...we worked together over the years...he was a class act who always had a positive way about him.
Whether it was 100* in the middle of summer or -10* in the middle of winter I never saw him not wearing a suit/tie...old school but still classy!
