Inez A. "Dottie" Conlon

WORCESTER - Inez A. "Dottie" (Kelley) Conlon, 88, passed away peacefully at the Christopher House, Worcester, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, October 14, 2013.

Her devoted husband of 58 years, James T. Conlon Jr. died in 2005.

She leaves two daughters, Doreen Kittredge and her husband, Francis of Worcester and Nancy Rubin of Swampscott; four grandchildren, Kara Milotte and her husband, Kyle of Holden, Deidre Kittredge of Worcester, Ben Rubin of Washington, D.C. and Elizabeth Rubin and her fiancé, Max Bennett of Connecticut; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Quinn Milotte. She also leaves her two sisters, Olive Hallaman of Holden and Phyllis Delaney and her husband Fred of Shrewsbury and many nieces and nephews.

Her son-in-law Steven Rubin, her brothers, Donald and Thomas Kelley and her sisters, Frances Carpentier, Ruth Donahue and Edna Kavalita all preceded her in death.

Dottie was born in Worcester on Feb. 8, 1925, the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Philomene (Belval) Kelley. She was a graduate of St. Stephen's High School.

She worked for many years at Anderson-Little Co., Fairlawn Hospital and Sears Roebuck Co.

What made her happiest in life was her family. She was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved shopping, entertaining, Hampton Beach and the Cape, the Red Sox, traveling to spring training and Bermuda with her husband Jimmy and trips to Foxwoods and Las Vegas with her sisters. Dottie was one of the last surviving members of the "Friday Night Poker Club" which met faithfully for close to 50 years.

Her family wishes to thank the staff at Christopher Heights and Christopher House, Brookside Unit for the wonderful care and support they gave Dottie and her family these past few years.

Calling hours are Thursday, October 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be held Friday, October 18 from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christopher House Activities Fund, 10 Mary Scano Drive, Worcester, MA 01605.
