James Chapman Obituary

James L. Chapman, 58, died on Thursday, February 28, 2008 in Marlborough Hospital after being stricken ill.

He is survived by his beloved wife of thirty one years, Deborah Perry and a daughter, Britlin P. Chapman, both of Lancaster. He leaves his mother, Barbara Arnett of Catonsville, MD; a brother, Cliff Chapman and his wife Janet of Waldorf, MD; two sisters, Sue Boylan and her husband Maurice of Finksburg, MD; and Sharon Keeley and her husband William of Hayden, Idaho; a sister-in-law, Diane Chapman of Sykesville, MD; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a brother Gary Chapman who died in 1999.

James was born in New Britain, CT to Barbara (Jacobson) and the late Clark Chapman. He was raised in Catonsville, MD and graduated from Catonsville High School before obtaining a bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from Tri-State University. Jim began employment with the Hedwin Corporation in Baltimore before relocating to Lancaster and was currently working as a manager with the Hudson Poly Bag Corporation. He formerly served in the Maryland National Guard and was an avid boater and fisherman. Jim enjoyed home restoration and time spent with his loving family.

A funeral service is to be held on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 7 PM in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton.  Calling hours will be held in the funeral home prior to services from 4 until 7 PM.  Burial will be held privately in Eastwood Cemetery, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in James' memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01522. Online condolences may be placed at
