Janice Ladner-Fitzgerald Obituary
Hyannis Port/Holden - Janice A. Ladner-Fitzgerald, 42, formerly of Holden and a resident of Hyannis Port since 1987, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Cape Cod Hospital after an illness. She was born and raised in Holden, the daughter of R. Brian Ladner and the late Carol E. (Belisle) Ladner, who sadly passed away on February 9th.
Her husband of 15 years, Brian P. Fitzgerald, passed away in 2015. She leaves four precious sons, Damien Ladner and Dylan, Dustin and Drew Fitzgerald, all of Hyannis Port. She also leaves behind her brother, Thomas J. Ladner and his wife, Monique and their daughter, Hope, of Hyannis; her sister, Christine E. Ladner of Ft. Myers, Florida; her grandmother, June E. Belisle of Rutland; her sisters-in-law, Patti Lotane and her husband, Michael of Yarmouth Port and Maureen Nedder and her husband, Bob of Dedham; and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Janice graduated from Cape Cod Regional Vocational Technical High School and was a hairdresser before going to work in the family business. She was a secretary and worked with her Dad at Whitman Castings, Inc. in Whitman for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville and enjoyed cooking, reading, wearing flip flops and having fun. Janice had a great love for her children and her family. She will be sadly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff of Cape Cod Hospital for the care and compassion provided in those final days. It was greatly appreciated.
A private committal service was held at St. John's Cemetery in Worcester. Please omit flowers. Jan, My heart is broken. We had our ups and downs and back and forths, but always ended up laughing together. And understood each other. I will miss our 8 am phone calls, and late night talks. You will always be in my heart. Prayers for your family.

My family and I have known Janice for many years through Brian. Many times she would send cookies to the fish market with Brian for us. Every Halloween they would bring the kids by my parent's house for a quick visit even though it was well out of the way. That's how we will remember them both, as being kind, generous, loving people. May you all find peace, comfort and strength in the wonderful memories you have of Janice.

Janice, I had lost touch with you and the family over a great many years but you and everyone were still in my thoughts. I just began reconnecting with old friends via Facebook and spoke with Tom last summer. I saw that you were liking my Facebook posts. This is very hard to take.
