Jeffrey McAlpine Obituary

Jeffrey McAlpine

WORCESTER - Jeffrey McAlpine, age 34, of Worcester, MA, formerly of Manchester, CT, passed away peacefully on January 29th 2016 surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his mother Susan McAlpine and her family; his father Bruce McAlpine and his family;; his sister Cari-Ann Oliveira, his girlfriend Alexandra Kartheiser, his dog Chico, and many beloved friends located all over the world. His childhood friends who became his brothers were Ryan Pierro, Mike White and Rich Ridel.

The most important thing in his life was his friends, who he considered part of his family. Jeff had great charisma that drew people to him. He was always ready to make new friends. He taught people how to be funny, to have no regrets, to be who they were, and not to care what other people thought. Jeff had a great sense of humor and made people laugh. He had a close relationship with his mom. He had a gruff exterior but a heart of gold. He loved music, especially Pearl Jam, Grateful Dead, and Wu-Tang. He loved his dog Brittany, his buddy for 19 years. Jeff loved art in all forms and especially tattoos. He was an avid follower of the Celtics, Red Sox and Patriots, and took pride in his Celtic heritage. He was a talented cook, his specialty was shepherd's pie.

Jeff's advice to his friends was: "Live your life to the fullest, love friends and family with absolute and enjoy every second of it." Jeff is deeply missed by all who loved him.

A memorial service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Vernon Street West in Manchester on Saturday, February 6th at 11 a.m. Donations may be made to Go Fund Me to help cover funeral and medical expenses.

Miss Me, But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road,
and the sun has set for me.
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a littlebut not too long,
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that was once shared.
Miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take, and each must go alone.
It's all a part of the master's plan, a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know.
Bear your sorrow in good deeds. Miss me, but let me go.

There are no words in the world that will console parents grieving the death of a child.

Even though we are at a loss of words, we pray that God will bless you with all the strength one needs to make it through this hard time.

May the soul of your child rest in everlasting peace.
