Jeffrey Means Obituary

Jeffrey A. Means
Dudley - Mr. Jeffrey A. Means, of Dudley, died Thursday, August 30th, 2012 in The Wachusett Extended Care Facility with his family and friends gathered by his side. He was 48.
Jeffrey was born on June 10, 1964 in Worcester a son of the late Dale E. and Vitella A. (Prokopovich) Means. Raised and educated in Shrewsbury, he graduated from Shrewsbury High School, class of 1983. He studied at Framingham State College.
He most recently worked as a security guard at Assumption College in Worcester where he had been employed for over 6 years. He loved his work at Assumption and was an integral part of its community.
His interests included sports cars and a love for NASCAR. Jeff, lovingly known as "Flathead" was a member of the Hartwell Motorsports Team that races at Thomson Speedway. Jeff also enjoyed planes in all sizes and enjoyed building small model airplanes. "Fly like a bird to the Lord, my soul. I want to soar like an eagle. Though I may journey far away from home, I know I'll never be alone." We trust that Jeff is now rejoined with his parents and loved ones that have gone before him.
A word of thanks to the 9th floor team at Spaulding Rehabilitation in Boston and to Wachusett Extended Care Facility for the care and support given to Jeff. His family will remain eternally grateful.
Jeff kept active swimming and treasured his time at the beach. He appreciated nature and stargazing. He also enjoyed drawing and painting.
He leaves his siblings, Dolores "Dolly" James and husband, Valentine Bal of Jacksonville, Florida, Jean Roy and husband, Dennis, of Largo, Florida, Dale E. Means Jr. "Sonny" and wife, Jane of Folsom, California, Margery "Marge" Mellentine and husband, Chuck, of Sunnyvale, California, Joyce "Joy" Glynn and husband, John, of Dudley, Robert "Bobby" Means and wife, Sheryl, of E. Brookfield and James "Jimmy" Means and wife, Anita, of Holden; many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews, a host of friends and the entire Assumption Community.

To the entire Means Family I express my deepest condolences. I spent many a night in the cellar working on model aircraft with Dale Sr. and Sonny , not to mention all the contests you managed to fine room for me to go with you. A truly Honorable Family with the "Old Country Values" of always helping others. It is a sad day that Jeff has departed this Earthly place but he will be back in the company of the Family in Heaven. God Speed Jeff , and again my deepest condolences to the Entire Means Family.
