Joan never seemed to lose her sense of mission, nor her desire to contribute knowledge to any group she was a part of. I know I am lucky to have known her. My condolences to all who love her.

What can I say? I distinctly remember the very first Sunday that Joan came to UUCW. I greeted her at the door. I can remember saying that every service is different, so do not judge based on just one service. For sure, there will be times you will be in full agreement and times where you will not agree with what is shared. But that is the joy of it all. We do not create clones. She kept coming back and our friendship grew and my admiration of all she did and had accomplished in her life grew and grew. What a fascinating and energetic woman. A blessing in my life and an inspiration. I am a better person for having had Joan Webster in my life. I am so grateful she stuck around and added immensely to our congregation. I will miss her. she leaves a void that will be hard for us regular people to fill. It might take a dozen or so people each trying to fill just a portion of her 'shoes'. We, and the world in general, are suffering a great loss.

I always was glad to see Joan when we were involved in an activity in the community and especially at a UU activity.
I would wish to emulate how she always made whoever she interacted with feel interesting, cared for, and loved.

To Joans family and friends,
My deepest sympathies to you on the passing of Joan. She was a remarkable woman who lived a life of purpose to encourage others, help solve problems, and make this place a better world in which to live. Her establishment of a conflict resolution policy at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester was one of the reasons I joined this church. She was a wonderful woman and a great role model. May your happy memories help to sustain you, especially when you decorate your paper bags during the holidays.

Joan's obituary took my breath away; I knew she was someone who got involved in causes that she cared deeply about, but I had no idea the length and breadth of this.
Joan was a fascinating woman, who always brought an interesting, thoughtful perspective to things.
I will miss her very much.
