For some reason, Joanne just entered my mind today, and I´m so sad to learn she´s gone. I was a patient of Joanne some 40 years ago as a 20-something young guy in the throes of a major crisis. Almost immediately upon meeting her, I knew I had found my angel. Joanne reminded me (until I believed it) that I was OK just as I was. Honestly, I wouldn´t be here if it wasn´t for her. I´m sure Joanne is out there "somewhere in the universe" inspiring, teaching, painting, and transforming lives!!! Truly a beautiful "one of a kind" human being!!

I am so sorry to learn of Joanne's passing. My condolences to her family & friends. I actually stumbled upon this obituary in my own grief, in search of how I can order myself another copy of her book, "The Phoenix Phenomenon" that I've misplaced.
While I did not know Joanne personally, I did meet her in college when she came to a class I was taking called, "Death and Dying: The Human Experience." One of the expectations for this class was to read Joanne's book, "The Phoenix Phenomenon". I enjoyed it very much and enjoyed meeting Joanne. While it was a long time ago now, I can still remember Joanne's warmth & kindness she displayed to myself and the other students.
Warm regards, Sarah

My deepest sympathy to all of Joanne's family. Joanne had the biggest heart of any person I had the pleasure of knowing I swear her heart took up most of her petite body. She was so kind, loving , understanding and had such a great sense of humor. I always loved our broken Polish conversations. I have the pleasure of owning 2 beautiful hydrangea paintings that Joanne painted for me hanging in my home. They will always remind me of this beautiful lady !!! Joanne you will be missed by many
