UXBRIDGE - Jody J. DeVries, 57, of Uxbridge passed away on Sat. Dec. 17, 2016 after battling a long illness.

Mr. DeVries was an assembler at ATK Aerospace Structures in Hopkinton for 15 years before his retirement in 2015 and had previously been employed at Nieco Microwave Co. He was a graduate of the Blackstone Valley Vocational Technical High School, Class of 1978.

Jody enjoyed fishing, spending time at West Hill Dam in Uxbridge and watching the ships in Galilee, Rhode Island. He also loved watching the New England Patriots, gardening, cooking, swimming in the family pool and vacationing on the Island of Jamaica. His grandchildren were the pride of his life.

Jody was the son of the late Joseph and Virginia (Dion) DeVries and had been a lifelong resident of Linwood before moving to Uxbridge three years ago. Mr. DeVries is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth V. and her husband Lee Bessette of Whitinsville, Jennifer L. and her husband Mark Pignataro of Oxford, one sister, Andrea Pincins of Whitinsville, two grandchildren, Madeline Bessette and Nathan Bessette, several nieces and nephews and his beloved cat "Charlotte". He is also survived by his former wife, Christine M. (Kloczkowski) DeVries of Linwood. He was predeceased by his brother, Andrew DeVries.

Visiting hours will be held on Thurs., Dec. 29, 2016 from 5-8 PM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 North Main St. (Rt.122), Uxbridge.

Funeral services will be held on Fri. Dec. 30, 2016 at 10 AM in the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Providence Rd. (Rt. 122), Northbridge.
