John L. Flynn, 57

Northborough/Sturbridge - John "Johnnie" L. Flynn passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on April 28th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 57. Those who knew John were well aware of his great gift of gab. Always the comedian with his sharp sarcastic wit. He loved a good game of golf and enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Red Sox and Patriots. He especially loved spending time with his beloved dog Buddy. He was a 1977 graduate of Assabet Valley High School. Johnnie was employed by Consolidated Beverages and later became the owner of a granite countertop business.

John is survived by his wife and love of his life, Althea, his daughter Taylor, and stepdaughter Jacqueline Alpine. He is also survived by his mother, Eileen Flynn of Northborough; his sister, Michelle Desposito and her husband Frank of Northborough; his brother Michael Flynn and his wife Pam (John's favorite sister-in-law) of Shrewsbury. John also leaves his dear friend Fred Blaisdell of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased in death by his father, John "Jack" Flynn.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff and nurses at. St. Vincent's Cancer Center who took such wonderful care of John. Also, a special thanks to Dr. James O'Shea for his kindness and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited by the family to an open house at the home of Mike and Pam Flynn to celebrate Johnnie's life Saturday, May 13th from 2-5 p.m. at 3 Bay View Dr. Shrewsbury.
