Joseph Confer Obituary
Oxford - Joseph H. Confer, 73, of Oxford, died on Monday, March 16th in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus while surrounded by his family.
Mr. Confer is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Gail (Irwin) Confer; his loving children, Joseph R. Confer and his wife Krissy of Holland, MA, Lyndsay Morello and her husband, John of Webster, MA, Helena Confer of Milford, MA, Alisha Confer and her fiancé Jonathan Green of Southbridge, MA, Rebecca Confer and Hannah Confer both of Oxford, MA; a sister, Lenora Jones of Syracuse, NY; six grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
Joe was born in Hogansburg, NY, son of the late Harry and Julia (Gray) Confer and is also predeceased by 4 brothers and sisters. He was a member of the St. Regis Mohawk Indian Reservation in Hogansburg, NY and has lived in Oxford for the past 41 years.
Mr. Confer worked throughout his career as a mason in the construction industry. He was a kind and loving man who was dearly loved by all who knew him.

Daddy I love and miss you so much. You are my best friend my inseparable best friend. I know though your with mom in heaven and that your watching over us all everyday. Thank you for being such a great role model I'll never forget our memories we had especially every weekend going to the red store on the weekend. Dearest family, I love you all dearly you know that I am just a call away, My dear Uncle will always be remembered and missed!! I will never forget his love, to laugh and tease! My dear, sweet long-time friend, Gail , I am so tremendously sad for you and your family at the loss of your precious Joe. He was such a humble, kind, soft-spoken, and loving man, with a quick wit and humor that would often catch me off-guard because it was unexpected coming from such a gentle soul. He was a rock solid foundation for dozens of children over the past three decades, opening his heart, his home, and his wallet, and extending quiet kindness and guidance to them, for which they will forever carry as a positive part of their lives. He will be fiercely missed by many, myself included, but none more than you, his forever-girl, and the children you have lovingly raised together.
