Dear Fran,
we met only once but your son was a "regular" in my living room along with all my son's other friends. He was the most polite, well read and brilliant of my son's friends. He was always a joy to have in the house and he and i shared many a long conversation about just about everything. I will surely miss his exuberance and love of humanity. His sweet soul and personality will live on in my families' memory.
He always asked me for permission to come in, or sit down or even take his coat off. I can still hear his voice saying "Patty, may I sit down for awhile and wait for Mal?"
I guess he did just that, " He stayed just a little while"

Mrs. Martin,
I don't know if you remember me but I went to Venerini with Joe. I remember him always smiling and having fun! It sounds as if this followed with him into his adult life & was able to enjoy & experience it more in his 30 years than most do in 80! He is an inspiration and will surely be missed by many. My condolences to you and your family.

Joe will be missed greatly. When I taught ESL at WSC, he always had a ready smile for my students, either as a tutor or as the friendly guy who helped them get their IDs in the security office. May he rest in peace.

Dear Fran,
You may not remember me but I remember you and Joe very well. My husband Bob, infant son Nicky and I lived over you at 4 Hartshorn Ave. in the early 80's. You and Joe were Nicky's first babysitters! I thought of Joe every time Nicky's birthday came around because I remember you having a little birthday party for Joe's 5th birthday as I passed by your door while on my way to the hospital to have Nick! I ended up having him on May 26th. Funny, I was thinking of Joe alot this year because I said 'He'll be 30 and Nick would have been 25.' That's the other thing...I lost Nicky in a car accident in 2001 so I've been right where you are now. Don't give up on yourself, Fran. Joe had a bright light...it will endure forever. With deepest condolences...Chris Sullivan Joiner

Joe was an outstanding person. While he was working at Worcester State College, he came to me and asked about training as an ESL tutor. We were happy to oblige, and happier to have him work with our Dept. for over 2 years. He was much sought after as a tutor, and he achieved his dream of going to Brazil to teach English. The online photos he sent were full of life and it was great to share his joy.
