Mark Simoneau Obituary

Mark Simoneau, Sr., 72

WORCESTER - Mark S. Simoneau, Sr. believed in, and loved, God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He was a humble and loving man. He helped anyone and everyone and was a dad to those without families. Our children, family and friends, lost a kind soul and giving man.

He loved being with family, fly-fishing, day trips, and eating out. As a hard dedicated worker, he worked lobstering at 11 yrs. old with his brother, and worked as a taxi cab driver, he worked melting metal in a factory, drove an ice cream truck, and helped incarcerated gang members with new lives. Mark was Human Resources Director for R. H. White Construction Co. in Auburn, MA, and Senior Human Resources Director for EMARC, a non-profit organization that works to support, serve and advocate for people with developmental disabilities and their families in Wakefield, MA.

Mark, after an illness, and with loved ones at his side, passed on New Years Day 2021. He leaves behind his wife; Lydia Yanis Simoneau; children Mark S. Simoneau, Vanessa Bradby, Aaron Simoneau, Gary Thurlow, Danielle Thurlow, Kristen Thurlow, and Adam Thurlow; siblings Annette Shaw, Adrienne Simoneau, Andrea "Pidge" Simoneau, and Mary Bishop; and many grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, the late Dr. Arthur and Ruth (Prohaska) Simoneau, and siblings Arthur "Artie" Simoneau and Sylvia Lupien.

Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Eastwood Cemetery, 330 Old Common Road, Lancaster, MA, with Pastor Rob Sierra officiating, under the care and direction of McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton, MA.

I have only wonderful memories of Mark and his entire family. Mark surely lived a life that reflected his high ideals. He had a presence that effused confidence in what was just without coercion. He will be sadly missed, but there was no doubt he loved passionately and was loved courageously. My deepest sympathy for those he left behind. My life was immensely enriched by knowing this family.
