Mary Keenan Obituary

Mary Ann Keenan, 77

WORCESTER/PUNTA GORDA, FL - Mary Ann (Sibley) Keenan, 77, of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly a longtime Worcester resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 in a nursing facility in Florida.

Mary was born in Westfield, MA on July 29, 1943. She graduated from St. Peter's High School in 1961, prior to starting her medical career at Hahnemann Hospital as a ward clerk and later became a nurse at the same facility. For most of her career, she worked in the nursery, where she loved the babies. Later in her career, she worked at St. Francis Home for the Elderly.

Mary's husband of 40 years, Ronald, of Punta Gorda, passed away on June 1, 2017.

She is survived by her loving sister, Carol Anderson and her husband Gary, of Boylston; her devoted son, Donald, who took wonderful care of Mary until the end, visiting her often at the home. Mary also leaves a daughter, Cheryl, in Germany; Becky, of Marlboro, Monique and Jimmy of OK; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Mary was a generous, good-natured person with a heart of gold to help anyone in need. She was a free spirit with a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh!

She enjoyed Hampton Beach, bird-watching, flowers, and, most of all, reading her books. She will be so missed. May she rest in peace!
