Nicholas Bull Obituary
STERLING - Nicholas J. Bull, 24, of Redstone Hill Rd., left us while hiking in Big Bend National Park in Texas on Saturday, August 3, 2013. He was born on February 8, 1989 in Worcester and lived most of his life in Sterling.
Nick graduated from Montachusett Vocational Technical High School in 2007. In 2011 he graduated with honors from Salem State College with a Bachelor's Degree in Geology where he served as president of the Earth-Science Association. He was currently a Western Michigan University graduate student on scholarship and earned a Master's Degree in Hydrology, to be awarded posthumously. While at graduate school, Nick served an internship with Apache Corporation in Midland, Texas and was to be heartily offered a full-time position.
Nick was as kind and loving as a person could be. He was humble, generous, bright, determined, a great lover of life and so very full of enthusiasm!
He is survived and will be lovingly and sorely missed by his mother, Lise A. Ledoux of Sterling; two brothers, Ssgt. Craig L. Bull, Jr. and his wife, Natalie and their daughter, Bianka of Murietta, CA and Joseph N. Bull of Meadville, PA; his one and only longtime love, Kelly Zarach of Leominster; his father, Craig L. Bull, Sr. of Buffalo, New York; his paternal grandmother, Eugenia Bull of Buffalo, NY; his maternal grandparents, Suzanne (Heintz) Ledoux and Bertrand Ledoux, each of Amherst, NY; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece, and many friends who loved him dearly.
All are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling, as well as a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 12, at St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge St., Sterling. Please join the family in the church hall for a collation following the Mass. At a later date, there will be a private burial at Hillside Cemetery in Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nicholas J. Bull Family Fund, c/o Clinton Savings Bank, 1 Main St., Sterling, MA 01564. To offer a condolence or share a memory, please visit

I never knew your son personally, infact I was only a child when he passed.
However, I came upon his placard the other day while walking through campus near the WMU Geo-research building, I'm sorry for your loss. I truly am, I know I'm a decade and some change late to offer my condolences to all of your family But you should know every single thing I've read about him extols his character. I can only hope to have a legacy like your son's someday a true champion in every sense of the word, adored & cherished by every waking soul he encountered. May God grant you all peace

After hearing about this tragedy; naturally, I thought of my own children & how I would respond to such a thing myself & then to you about it. What I thought was this: God made us to have a relationship with Him, His "Word" tells us that "The Devil" comes to rob, & destroy, especially in such times as this you are going through. Don't let that thief have any ground!! (I know,easy to say)
All through these years we rarely saw each other; I heard absolutely nothing more about you other than how caring, giving & kind you've been living your life, being a true example of Jesus.
I've been told, & read about how smart Nicholas was, his extraordinary accomplishments in schools & in the work force,but NOTHING holds a candle to the great number of comments I heard & read as to how "KIND" he was.
You or Nicholas couldn't have done any better with the time you had, I know, because God's "WORD" puts it to us simply this way;
"What is DESIRED in a man, is his Kindness...... " WELL DONE !!!

There are no words that can be said that can describe how amazing of a person Nick was. I remember him always having an open mind and a thirst for knowledge. I often remember finding myself in his room when I would be hanging out with Joe after school. We would listen to music and I'd give him tips on how to play the guitar. He looked up to his big brothers so much and wanted to make them proud. I'm positive he succeeded in that. You will be missed my friend.

We all treasured Nick as a friend and colleague. He was a valued component of our Geology Master's Program. Nick was extremely hard working and an important leader among his colleagues.
This is a very sad time for all of us who knew him. Nick will be greatly missed, but also he will long be remembered for his contributions to our program. We wish our most sincere condolences to his family at this sad time.

Dear Bull Family,

Nick I love you soo much. I miss u and your all I think about when I close my eyes I see your face. Your such a good kid and Im so sorry that I never verbalized my love for you. But I know that u know you were loved. You were my best friend and we looked up to each other. We've been though a lot together and we got through it.
