SHREWSBURY - Normand "Babe" Wilhelmy of Shrewsbury, was reunited in Christ, with his beloved wife, Irene and his sons Normand Jr. and Stephen on Saturday April 25, 2015 in his home in Shrewsbury surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves behind a daughter, Cheryl McKane and her husband, Andrew of Rutland Vermont; two sons, Bruce Wilhelmy of Worcester, and Richard Wilhelmy and his wife, Susan of Boylston; one sister, Thelma Hanley of Chicago, Illinois; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Irene (Argalli) Wilhelmy and his two sons Normand, Jr. and Stephen Wilhelmy; three brothers, Eudore Jr., Roland, and Robert Wilhelmy.

Normand was born and raised in Marlborough, Massachusetts, son of the late Eudore and Georgianna (Boudreau) Wilhelmy. He graduated from Marlborough High School, later going on to Lehigh University graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and served his county proudly during W.W. II. After leaving the Army he continued his education at Clark University and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Normand went on to a career in manufacturing, working for St. Pierre Chain Corp. in Worcester, MA., and Hobbs Manufacturing Company also in Worcester. He was at Hobbs for 21 years, holding many positions before becoming President and Treasurer of Hobbs Williams Corp. of Toronto. Normand became Chairman at Wolf Coach, Auburn, Ma. and ended his career as owner and operator of Hobbs Fasteners, Worcester, Ma.

Normand was involved in many civic activities, many of them in the Worcester area; he served as Director and Past President of Greendale Kiwanis Club, of Worcester, MA, the Director and Past President of Lincoln Neighborhood Center, Former Vice President and Board Member and current Member of the National Association of Accountants, Worcester Chapter, District Committee Member of North District of Mohegan Council of Boy Scouts, Finance Committee of Shrewsbury Hockey Association, Past President Shrewsbury Little League, Former Member Worcester Economics Club, Member of Worcester Area Chamber of Commerce, and also Notary Public for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, ; and member of the Board of Directors for the Worcester Club.

Normand also enjoyed his sports, he loved watching his beloved Celtics and Patriots and was a die hard New York Yankee's fan. He was a faithful member of Saint Mary's Parish in Shrewsbury and enjoyed playing bridge with friends and traveling.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Normand's funeral Mass which will be celebrated on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10 AM in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial with military honors will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in his name to Saint Mary's Parish. I appreciated the way Mr Wilhelmy cared about me and he was alot of fun to be with on the golf course , playing wiffle ball in the neighborhood, etc.
